The Technology behind Pong’s new iPhone 5 case

On Wednesday, Apple announced the new iPhone 5.

The iPhone 5 is not only thinner, longer and lighter than previous iPhones, but also incorporates an entirely new antenna structure.  Because Apple did not release technical specifications for the iPhone 5 before it launched, Pong’s scientists have just begun to analyze its antenna characteristics and radiation patterns. Pong’s engineers team will then design a proprietary Coupled Antenna System and the related elements necessary to reduce users’  radiation exposure while at the same time optimizing the iPhone 5’s signal strength.

A Pong case is no ordinary case. Embedded in every Pong case is a custom engineered Coupled Antenna System that redirects and redistributes the radiation emitted from your smartphone to reduce your exposure to potentially harmful electro magnetic radiation (EMR), while optimizing signal strength.  A Pong case can also conserve battery life. The Coupled Antenna System is designed to work with the antenna and radiation pattern unique to every mobile device.

Pong technology works for all frequency bands in the US and internationally, so that you are protected from potentially harmful EMR no matter where you are and which network you use.

Our new Pong case for the iPhone 5 is targeted for release around the end of October. In the meantime, you can reserve your case. Sign up now and we’ll make sure you have the opportunity to place your order before the new Pong iPhone case is available to the general public.

  1. Please let me know when these are ready… the meantime I will be ordering the case for the iPhone 4s that we have now and will get passed to my husband. Thanks

  2. I look forward to you releasing this soon. Also, I very much hope you will offer a leather (or faux leather) option. Or maybe a wood grain veneer version, such as mahogany or cherry. The colored plastic designs look ok, but it would be great if you had some more elegant options to choose from. Thank you!

  3. Hoping the iPhone 5 version is more durable. While I was happy to be spared the radiation, I went through 3 iPhone 4 pong cases because they are so brittle at the corners (particularly upper left)
